SIMS 3 IS GO FOR ADDICTIVE TV REMIX

Following Addictive TV’s recent Hollywood movie remixes including Slumdog Millionaire, Fast & Furious and the blockbuster movie version of Max Payne, the hugely successful computer game; Electronic Arts, the world’s leading independent developer and publisher of video games, have asked the London based audiovisual artists to remix the much anticipated Sims 3 game for its June 2nd release.

In keeping with game itself, which offers a whole world of creative possibilities and customisation of characters and settings, EA have given Addictive TV game assets and full creative freedom to make a unique short audiovisual viral track.

Over the years, a rich tradition of artistic involvement with the game has built up; lots of audio artists from The Black Eyed Peas, The Pussycat Dolls and Lily Allen to Depeche Mode, Junkie XL and Adam Freeland have all recorded versions of their tracks with lyrics in “Simlish”, the made up language of The Sims, but this is the first time a full audiovisual remix has been produced, creating music from the sounds in the game.

Now in its 9th year, The Sims is one of the best selling computer games of all time, having sold more than 100 million units.  For those unfamiliar, The Sims is a strategic life simulation game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts.  It was created by game designer Will Wright, who also developed SimCity

The Sims 3 allows users to create virtually any Sim imaginable and give them a unique and realistic personality, with traits such as evil, artistic, kleptomaniac, clumsy, insane, romantic, and then influence their behaviour, whilst they roam around a seamless, living neighbourhood where everything can be fully customised.

ADDICTIVE TV BIOGRAPHY

Responsible for mind-bending live entertainment.”

"The World's most popular audiovisual artists.”

“Addictive TV is one goggle box you'll want to stay tuned to!”

Described so eloquently as 'next level shit' by Grandmaster Flash, when they supported the great man in San Francisco, Addictive TV are certainly that.  Addictive TV have blown away audiences in over 50 countries now, even Moby described them as 'a tough act to follow' when they supported him at the opening event of SXSW 2008 in Austin,Texas.  Reviewing that show, US music magazine Paste said "Addictive TV completely blew my mind! ...a compelling pop culture audio/visual avalanche!"

Aside from their studio based remix work, Addictive TV have played film and music festivals all over the planet, in venues as varied as the Pompidou Centre in Paris, the bfi IMAX cinema in London and at the Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Arts, as well as headlining at some of the coolest clubs, including Womb in Tokyo, Rex Club in Paris, Paradiso in Amsterdam, Cargo in London and Razzmatazz in Barcelona.

Meticulously sampling everything from Hollywood movies to music videos, computer games to sports events, the intensely detailed style of Addictive TV has seen them create work for the likes of Adidas,  BMW, Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Universal and the British Film Institute.

In 2006 they became the first artists to officially remix a Hollywood studio movie when they created the award-winning web viral for New Line Cinema's "Take the Lead" starring Antonio Banderas, and in 2008 became the first group to ever remix the Olympics live for television, when they took part in a major EU funded and IOC sanctioned project looking at new forms of broadcast television.
